Andy Shaw
Director/Principal Lawyer
Andy Shaw is a director of Jim’s Legal and also serves as Head of Legal for Jim’s Group.
Andy is a highly regarded commercial lawyer who is accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a specialist in commercial law. He is also a long-standing member of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Commercial Law Specialisation sub-committee, and has been a regular presenter to other lawyers on the topic of mergers, acquisitions and business structures.
Prior to Jim’s, Andy honed his skills in the commercial workgroups at a number of well-respected firms, providing advice to businesses of all sizes on a broad range of commercial law matters.
Andy’s commercial law expertise includes assisting business clients with mergers and acquisitions, franchising, business succession (including partnership and equity holder agreements), commercial contracts, commercial and retail leasing, compliance and governance, directors duties, employment law and dispute resolution.
Andy also has significant experience assisting private clients with their personal succession planning, helping individuals and families plan for their future with a range of legal services related to estate planning and trusts.
When Andy isn’t in the office, he enjoys keeping active in the great outdoors – in particular running and cycling, and spending time with his family.
Tracy-Lynne Geysen
Lawyer
Tracy-Lynne Geysen is an experienced family lawyer and special counsel at Jim’s Legal.
Tracy started her career working in small boutique family law firms and worked in a medium size firm until she started her own family and animal law firm in August 2009.
Tracy was one of the founding members of BLEATS (a group of pro bono lawyers who represented the RSPCA in prosecuting animal cruelty and neglect matters). Her firm included animal law and she was the first lawyer in Australia practising in animal law. Tracy has experience in all areas of family law including parenting matters, property settlement, spousal maintenance, child support and divorces.
In recent years she has focussed her practice on her work as an Independent Children’s Lawyer – a role appointed by the court to represent a child or children to assist the court to make a decision in the best interests of the child or children.
Tracy continues to be passionate in assisting clients to reach an agreement about their family law matter as quickly and as amicably as possible to save clients expense – both financial and emotional.
She has mentored university students and junior lawyers and she has done much volunteer work including for Women’s Legal Service and she is a current board member of The Good Life Farm and a volunteer for Orange Sky Laundry a charity based in Brisbane a that offers a free mobile laundry service for the homeless.
In her spare time Tracy enjoys bush walking, gardening, decorating houses, watching reality TV, reading, playing with her pride and joy – her Doll Face Persian kitten, Kennedy, eating out and spending time with friends and family.
Emma Karacsonyi
Lawyer
Emma Karacsonyi is a lawyer at Jim’s Legal, having commenced as in-house counsel for Jim’s Group in early 2023.
Prior to joining the team, Emma acquired extensive experience at a boutique law firm and honed her skills across a spectrum of legal domains, specialising in civil litigation, insurance law and third-party motor vehicle recoveries.
Emma’s client-centric, compassionate nature plays a vital role in empathising with her clients, ensuring they receive the personalised attention and support they deserve.
She understands the complexities of the legal system and is driven by a commitment to helping everyday Australians access their legal rights by operating in a transparent and straightforward manner. Her dedication is evident through her volunteer work at an employment rights legal centre.
In her spare time, Emma enjoys embarking on camping adventures with friends and family.
Rachel Brooke

Rachel Brooke is a lawyer at Jim’s Legal.

Outside of her professional endeavours, Rachel values spending quality time with friends and family, cherishing these moments dearly. She also nurtures a keen interest in tennis and avidly follows the AFL, finding enjoyment in these pursuits outside of work.
Robby Halabi
Lawyer
Robby Halabi is a lawyer at Jim’s Legal, with a background in corporate and financial services law, having practiced as in-house counsel. Prior to his in-house role, Robby started his legal career as a lawyer in immigration law, gaining valuable experience across a range of complex matters.
Robby’s commercial law expertise includes providing businesses with strategic advice on corporate transactions, compliance, and governance. He is dedicated to helping clients with a range of commercial law matters, ensuring they receive clear, practical solutions tailored to their needs.
In addition to his commercial work, Robby is interested in assisting clients with property law matters. His client-focused approach ensures that individuals and businesses alike receive comprehensive guidance on property transactions and related legal concerns.
Outside of the office, Robby enjoys spending time running and beekeeping, activities that bring balance and focus to his life.
Liz Armstrong
Legal Assistant
Liz Armstrong is a legal administrative assistant at Jim’s Legal.
Her association with Jim’s Group commenced in 2022 as a call centre team member. Prior to joining the Legal team, she also worked within the Contracts department, facilitating the management of service agreements with external organisations and stakeholders, while also cultivating and sustaining enduring relationships with third parties.
Liz leverages her extensive expertise in healthcare, client service and administration to actively support clients on a day-to-day basis.
Beyond her professional commitments, Liz is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Law at Swinbourne University. Outside of her studies, she cherishes quality time with her family in the great outdoors. Embracing an active lifestyle, Liz enjoys camping, traveling with her loved ones and exploring the local food scene that the Yarra Valley has to offer.
